Hi, this is Dr. Fab Mancini and I’m so excited that you joined us.
This show, this new season is all about you.
It’s about the topics that you want me to do; the ones that you feel you need to hear about.
So this one is from Audra in actually London, England.
How exciting is that?
Audra writes, “Dr. Fab, how do I nurture relationships with others?”
We live in a world though as human beings, it’s a world of relationships.
And I can tell you one thing I learned many years ago is your relationships are worth a lot more than the money that you have in the bank.
I want to share a story with you about nurturing relationships.
When I was president of a university, one of my jobs was to fundraise, but all I did was to help and nurture those people in the past that had a propensity to give.
And there was one individual that I kept giving and giving my time, my energy, supporting him, writing little notes, calling them every so often, making sure that they felt connected with me.
And after two years of doing that, when I least expected, he went and wrote me a $1 million gift donation.
I was overwhelmed.
I want you to know relationships and nurturing them is essential for your success.
Let me share with you three things that you can do right now to nurture your relationships.
The first one is: be authentic.
Nobody wants to deal with a relationship when the other person is not being themselves.
Stop pretending you have more than have.
Stop pretending that you’re doing more than you’re doing.
Just be yourself.
You want to hear a secret?
That’s enough right now.
You are enough.
The second this: support when not expected.
One of the things that builds relationship greatest in my life is when I offer my support when people do not expect it, and don’t expect people to come to you for help and don’t even ask them for help.
Just do it.
If you see somebody around you that is going through a need, financial, relationship, work-related, go ahead and support them when they least expect it.
And the last thing is say thank you for every little thing that someone does for you.
Let me tell you, being in gratitude in relationships is one of the greatest compliments to sustain a long-term relationship, so just say, thank you, thank you, thank you, for every little thing that they do.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these tips and I will see you on the next show.
