I’ve been there.

I know sometimes letting go is not easy.

I want you to know that when I retired from Parker University, after 13 1/2 years, that was
very difficult for me because being President of a very prestigious university, and running all this successful business, I thought my identity was on the businesses.

Then, I realized that it wasn’t. Really I’m the person behind everything that I do.

It doesn’t matter what you did yesterday, or what you’re going to do today, or what you may do tomorrow.

You carry yourself through everything.

So, let me share with you, three things that you can do right now, to ensure that you’re letting go.

The first one is, appreciate why it happened.

Whether it’s a person that you met, or whether it’s an activity, or an event that happened, appreciate it.

Because when you appreciate it, you’re more easier to let it go.

The second thing is, know that the past does not define you.

Stop beating yourself up.

Stop feeling guilty about the things that happened.

In order to let go of things, you have to be able to recognize that those things do not define who you are today, and definitely not who you’re going to be tomorrow.

The last thing is, be open to new experiences.

The best thing to let go of things, is because now when you’re letting something go, you’re opening the door for a new experience.

Whether there is a new person or new job, or a new experience for your life.
